In the era of climate change: Exploring research at the intersection of children, emerging technology, and environmental sustainability

This in-person workshop aims to bring together a group of interdisciplinary researchers currently working, or wanting to work at the intersection of children, digital technology, and environmental sustainability (ES), so we can:

  • Learn about why researchers are engaged in this area, and take stock of current research going on;
  • Discuss theoretical and methodological considerations when introducing environmental sustainability to IDC; and
  • Develop a working manifesto that can guide future avenues and possibilities for environmental sustainability within IDC.

The workshop will also be an opportunity to begin creating a community around this topic. There are specific challenges to this line of research that could significantly benefit from collaboration and coordination across multiple research sites. The workshop will therefore be an opportunity to discuss research collaborations.
